FAQs

When does the season start and end?

The season starts at the end of April/beginning of May and runs until mid-July.

What days/times are the games?

Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays and start between 6:45pm and 7:00pm. Games are an hour and a half long. You can expect to play once or twice a week max.

Where are games played?

Our home field is at Connaught Park located at 2390 W 10th Ave in Kitsilano. The VWFL interlocks with the Moody Park League, and depending on the team, away games will occasionally be played across the Lower Mainland.

What if I am unable to attend all games?

No problem! Everyone has commitments that prevent them from making every game. However, you must play a minimum of four games to be allowed to play in the final playoffs and provincial championships should your team play in either of those.

Are there practices? When and where?

League practices take place at Connaught Park during the pre-season, usually from March to April. Everyone, including new/prospective players, is welcome! Watch our Instagram account (@vwfl) for more information!

How old are the players?

Our players span a wide range of ages, from 19 – 50+.

What is the level of competition?

We are a B/C level division, which means we are competitive but welcome a diverse range of players.

The Vancouver Women’s Recreational Softball League (VWRSL) is a Senior D recreational league.

Are there any tournament commitments?

Each team determines their specific interest in various tournament options throughout the season.

What equipment do I need?

Each team provides their players with access to bats, balls, and uniforms. Players are responsible for purchasing their own cleats (non-metal), glove, and any other personal equipment necessary (mouthguard, face guard, sliders, etc.).

How do I contact the league with my questions?

We would love to hear from you! Email us at playball.vwfl@gmail.ca and follow us on Instagram at @vwfl.
